Okay, I know you will all get sick of me and my workout news, but you have to understand that I will be 56 in a few weeks and the last 6 months have been the first time in my life I have consistently worked out.  I can't believe how good I feel, both physically (well, some days not so good because they can sure make your muscles sore), but I feel great about myself and my accomplishments, doing things I never thought I could do.  I have always been pretty weak physically.

At the beginning of the month we do a set workout, and then redo it at the end of the month to see if we have progressed.  This month we had to do 150 med balls tosses, holding a 10-14 pound ball while squatting down low, and then up, throwing the ball to a predetermined height.  The first of the month I thought there was no way I was going to make it.  I literally thought I was going to die on the floor, and I got to the point where I had to do one, rest, do another and rest.  It took me almost 21 minutes to do all of them, and believe me, it wasn't a pretty sight!  Well......yesterday I redid the same workout.  Only this time I was able to do it in 12+ minutes, taking 8 minutes off my time, and the only problem I had was catching my breath.  WOO HOO!!!!!  I just keep yelling, "I am so proud of myself!"  No vanity here I say!  I am sure it was just the delirium.  LOL

Can't wait for tomorrow's workout!  I think I am addicted!  Who would have ever thought.....

Beautiful Gift

I had sent out a plea for a couple of Bent Creek charts that I couldn't find.  Mary Murphy (Xeyedmary) offered me the December Swirls pattern, and of course I accepted.  :o)  What I did not expect was to get a box in the mail with all of these wonderful treats.  It just made me smile the rest of the day.  It was like someone had put their arms around me and gave me a huge hug, and who doesn't need a good hug now and then?

Notice that it didn't take long to get into the popcorn drizzled with dark and white chocolate and it took an even shorter period of time to eat it all.  (I tried to save some for my hubby, but it just kept calling to me.)  There were also two beautiful pieces of fabric, some morning glory seeds that I have wanted to try for years, and darling carrot chocolates.  I am loving blogging more every day, but especially the wonderful kindhearted women I am meeting.  Wish we could all live close and meet face to face.  Wouldn't that be a treat!!!

Giveaway That I Received

Lovely Giveaway that I received from Cat.

This didn't arrive until a few weeks ago just as I was leaving town.  I got home and couldn't find my camera, etc. etc. so I owe her a huge apology for not getting this posted before now.  I feel badly that the darling little pillow she stitched must have fallen down and I didn't notice it as I was taking the photo.  Lots of fun little things, candy, ribbon, a reed diffuser, and more.  My favorites are the little pillow and the scissor fob.  I have one pair of scissors and now I have a fob!!!  I must admit, I have loved it.  I can fiind my scissors anytime now.  Thanks so much Cat!!!  It was so fun to receive.

Now, can anyone tell me about where to find one of those scissor frogs or whatever you call them that holds all your scissors?  Guess I am going to have to start a collection of scissors and my newfound love, fobs!!!LOL

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my CrossFit workouts!  Finished 30 minutes ago and still can't catch my breath.  Feels so good to get it all out of my system and I can't believe how much stronger I am getting and how much better I feel.   So happy right now.  Didn't they say exercise puts you on a high?

Decided to add a few more of my past finishes "for your viewing pleasure."  Please see Finishes on my sidebar.

I am seriously falling in like with blogging...well, not really blogging, but with the wonderful people I am meeting online.  First, I have found two wonderful stitchers who are willing to share their charts with me that I could not find anywhere else, and then today for a number of you who not only put up with my whining, but sent me encouraging emails as well.

Life is good when there are good people who surround you.  It is great to know that there are kind, compassionate people all over the world.  Guess all is not lost with the world yet.  :o)

I can't seem to make my heart stop aching.  I have cried for two days now and can't seem to feel much better.  Why do our children make such dumb choices?  I have taught them right from wrong, how to work hard, how to treat others well, how to serve, etc., but they just don't seem to get it.  I am feeling like such a failure.

How can they move out when they can't afford it?  Why do I have to live with disrespect and unkindness and lack of willingness to help and follow my rules?  They are adults now for heaven's sake!

I know I shouldn't put something this personal out there and will probably delete this in about 15 minutes, but there....I have said it!

Can anyone help me?  I have been looking for the Bent Creek charts "April Glooms" and "December Swirls."  I have ordered them from several different places only to be told they are out and will have to backorder them, but I think they are out of print.

My Giveaway Win

Look what I just received from Just Another Button Company for my win!  I just love their buttons, and now these cute sewing pins.  They have even more new things out that you really need to see on their web site.  Cannot believe the intricacy in their buttons - I've tried to do it before.  Now I just need me a pin cushion.  Have to learn how to make one of those that I have seen on some of your blogs.

A Little Lightheartedness

Couldn't be anything cuter.  This is my little "grandson."  He is three years old and lives next door.  His parents have had to put extra high locks on the doors because he keeps coming to my house all hours of the day, even with no coat or shoes in a snowstorm.

One day his older brother told me that little Joe was just laying under the piano bench staring dreamily overhead, so he asked him what he was doing.
His answer, "Just thinking."
"What are you thinking about?"
"I'm just thinking about Peggy at Peggy's house."
Aww!  I dare anyone to resist that!
Yesterday he was twirling around the house while proclaiming loudly, "I'm a toilet!  I'm a toilet!"

From the mouths of babes.  :o)
